28.02.2008 : COMMENCEMENT OF FIRST AID TRAINING
A 2 day full-time training in First Aid was commenced today in CODISSIA Conference Hall. Mr.K.K.Thangappan, Faculty deputed by St.John Ambulance, Coimbatore is taking classes. The training will complete on 29.02.2008. Dr.Saradhamani will conduct the Examination on this day. 42 candidates have joined the training.

Secretary, Mr.V.Thirugnanam, Mr.S.Surulivel, Mr.K.V.Sashidharan, Hon.Regional Joint Secretaries, Mr.K.Kasthurirangaian and Mr.D.Gandhikumar, Past Presidents CODISSIA assembled in CODISSIA and listened the announcement of Central Budget for 2008-2009 presented by the Hon’ble Finance Minister today in the Parliament. Mr.C.Muthusami, President, CODISSIA issued a press release briefing the salient features of the Budget.

The Weekly Guidance Cell Meeting was held in CODISSIA. Mr.V.Ranganathan, Past President, Mr.D.Jayagopal, Chairman, EDP Cell, CODISSIA were present and gave guidance to the visiting entrepreneurs for selfemployment ventures. There were 6 entrepreneurs seeking guidance.

Mr.C.Muthusami, President attended Indo- Africa Buyer-Seller Meet at Hotel The Residency, organized by Engineering Export Promotion Council. A team of 20 buyers from African countries visited Coimbatore and interacted with Indian participants about exports of engineering goods.

The subjects discussed were: 1) Discussion meeting with Hon’ble Arcot N.Veeraswamy, Minister for Electricity on 29.02.2008 at Tamil Nadu Secretariat, Chennai, 2) Letter received from Hon’ble Pongalur N.Palanisamy, Minister for Rural Industries regarding discussion with the CODISSIA Members about the Industrial Policy 2008, 3) Application received from Mr.P.R.Aneesh and Mrs.R.Anitha for suitable position in CODISSIA Office, 4) Request of Aircel to allow their staff to make use of the front portion of the 4th floor for renovation, 5) Draft MoU received from ITPO about holding of events in the CODISSIA Exhibition Grounds, 6) CODISSIA Membership Subscription to collect with or without Service Tax @ 12.36%, 7) Renovation of the CODISSIA Building, 8) CODISSIA monthly recurring deposit in Canara Bank matures during May 2008, 9) Nomination of Chairman for INTEC 2009.
